Dr. Mattaur had dreamed about being a veterinarian since she was a small child. She started as a kennel worker at West Orange Animal Hospital when her mom signed high school working papers. There, she learned husbandry and became more aware of the human-animal bond. While attending Penn State University Park “Go Nittany Lions,” she explored her love of animals by working with equine surgeon Dr. Fugaro, interning at Hanover Shoe Farms, and moving up the chain at West Orange Animal Hospital. Dr. Mattaur then attended veterinary school at Tuskegee University, where she fostered her love for surgery. After graduating summa cum laude in 2014, she acquired a small animal rotating internship at Garden State Veterinary Specialists. Dr. Mattaur then went on to complete two surgical internships at Long Island Veterinary Specialist and New York Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center. Dr. Mattaur then decided to take her specialty surgical skills to general practice at the Veterinary Center of Morris County. After several years, Dr. Mattaur saw her dream come to fruition with the opening of her family-orientated privately owned practice.

Furthermore, Dr. Mattaur volunteered her skills from Long Island Bulldog Rescue in 2016 and is currently with St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center. Dr. Mattaur has a set of twins (Kaylah and Cameron) and her youngest (Naomi). When she is not spending time with her family, you can catch her reading a book, gardening, or relaxing with her cat named MJ. Dr. Mattaur enjoys walks with her family and her Basenji named Anubis. Dr. Mattaur also enjoys music, movies, and all forms of dancing.
